The first time I made these airline cookies they were for Captain T, one of my best customers and KC macaroon fanatic. He gave them out as a thank you to his flight crew for the holidays.
It took me a few tries, but I finally got the planes looking pretty close to the actual planes – at least as close as a not-to-scale sugar cookie can look.
Another flying friend asked me to do a similar cookies this past week as a parting gift for a recently retired pilot – hence the “bye bye.”
I am happy they were a huge hit!
While these are obviously specific to a certain airline, the plane shape would be great for a boys birthday party or for a bon voyage party.
